Media Matters linked to a recent VOICES article

Well, this is a feather in our cap, lol.

The famous national website MEDIA MATTERS linked to a item we posted this weekend, related to the tragic shootings in Arizona. Thanks to our local celebrity mystery man veblen for clueing us in.

In a piece on the gulliablity of winger hacks, Media Matters has linked to this story.

On Saturday, several people created fake profiles for the shooter, including this one, captured by Voices of Central Pennsylvania, a monthly community newspaper. Voices wrote that the Facebook  page for "Jared Laughner" - since taken down - lists "People Who Inspire Jared" as including Obama and added: "With images of President Obama, various noted intellectuals and leftists, a statement indicating homosexuality preferences, and anti Tea Party and revolutionary slogans, it seems possible that it was a deliberate attempt to distribute disinformation."

Shortly after the news sources first began releasing the earliest reports about the person accused of the shootings of Gabrielle Giffords (D Az), incorrectly mispelling the name Jared Lee Loughner as Jared Laughner, this facebook profile was discovered and the link was circulated in the blogosphere.

Fake profile for "Jared Laughner" which appeared shortly after that incorrectly spelled name was first released.

With images of President Obama, various noted intellectuals and leftists, a statement indicating homosexuality preferences, and anti Tea Party and revolutionary slogans, it seems possible that it was a deliberate attempt to distribute disinformation.

Slogans and text placed on the profile include:

"Ask for work. If they do nt give you work, ask for bread. If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread.".

Jared Lee Loughner's presumed Youtube profile is located at http://www.youtube.com/user/Classitup10 and contains 5 videos uploaded between 1 month and 3 weeks ago.
