Monroe – Pike CLC and Members of Carbon County Community to demand “No Cuts to Benefits for Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security”.
 
On January 30, 2013 at 4:00 PM working family, seniors, young people and concerned community members will hold an event outside of the Jim Thorpe Courthouse to urge Federal Congressional and Senate elected officials, to say “Listen to the People- Stop Holding Us Hostage” The group will voice how it’s unacceptable that radical members of the GOP are willing to hold the economy hostage with yet another manufactured fiscal crisis. Carbon County CLC and Keystone Progress wants the legislators to know that the solution is to close tax loopholes for Wall Street and the richest 2% of Americans.
 
The event will take place at 4:00 PM outside the Stroudsburg Chamber of Commerce locate at
556 Main Street Stroudsburg, PA
 
Since the election, working families across Pennsylvania and the country have been mobilizing to prevent Congress from making benefit cuts to vital working family services like Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, and to ensure that the wealthy pay their fair share.
