Additional Background Information:
Wheatfield Nursery will be hosting Pink Day, a breast cancer fundraiser on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM as part of the Invincibelle™ Spirit Campaign to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Invincibelle™ Spirit begins blooming on new wood in late May to early June and continues blooming right up until frost. Unlike some hydrangeas, soil pH doesn’t affect this hydrangea’s bloom color; the flowers ...emerge a dark, hot pink color and mature to a light dusty pink.
In addition to providing season-long color in the garden, the Invincibelle™ Spirit hydrangea is dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and prevention. Like the women who have survived breast cancer, this new hydrangea is resilient and can withstand extreme conditions.
For every Invincibelle™ Spirit sold, $1.00 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Wheatfield Nursery will be adding to the funds raised by the sale of Invincibelle™ Spirit hydrangea by hosting Pink Day, a fun event for the whole family, on July 30, 2011.
The event gets started at 11 a.m. with competitive demonstrations by members of the Pennsylvania Professional Lumberjack Organization – all wearing pink in support of breast cancer research!
Come dressed in pink and bring your friends to enjoy live music, demonstrations and other entertainment,
craft vendors who support breast cancer research, delicious food, a community gift basket raffle, supporter informational materials, information from our local Master Gardening Club ...
and great deals on plants!
Wheatfield Nursery will be donating 10% of their proceeds from the day to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, along with donations from the other event participants on July 30th.

* Wheatfield Nursery has scheduled competitive lumberjack demonstrations by the Pennsylvania Professional Lumberjack Organization.
These men and women will be wearing pink in support of breast cancer research. Members of the organization, of which Wheatfield's manager & organizer, Melissa Berrier, is a part, travel throughout PA and surrounding states showcasing their skills in various lumberjack competitions ranging from wood chopping and sawing to axe throwing.
In a sense, it's an inspirational display of strength and determination for breast cancer patients and survivors.
For more information about the lumberjack organization, you can check out their website: www.pplo.org.
All are encouraged to attend Wheatfield Nursery's first annual fundraiser for breast cancer research ... There will be something for everyone, and it's planned to be a fun day for the whole family to attend!
