Toomey Watch says Pat Toomey is lying in his ads
I'm sure we've all seen Toomey's attack ads.
The Toomey Watch people have made a youtube video responding to what they say are lies in the ads.
We just released a new web video, which explores the tenuous relationship between Pat Toomey's latest television ad and the truth. Please watch it now.
For example, Toomey's ad claims the stimulus package "created record debt without creating jobs." But FactCheck.org says while there has been some debate over the exact number of jobs that have been created by the stimulus bill, there is no question that it has created and saved jobs.
In fact, "the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that through March 2010, the stimulus bill was responsible for the employment of between 1.2 million and 2.8 million people. The CBO said the stimulus had lowered the national unemployment rate 'by between 0.7 percentage points and 1.5 percentage points.'"
Our new video explores several other examples of Toomey ignoring the facts.
And make no mistake about this, Pat Toomey is ignoring and even misrepresenting facts so he can continue to falsely define himself to the voters of Pennsylvania as some kind of moderate "everyman" steeped in Main Street values. And right now, he is succeeding to a great extent. This week, a new poll showed that Toomey is ahead by 27 points among voters not affiliated with a political party.
As you know, here at ToomeyWatch.com we are devoted to debunking Toomey's mainstream self-portrait, and educating Pennsylvania voters that Toomey is NOT the champion of hard-working Pennsylvanians he portrays himself to be, but rather a dangerous extremist and Wall Street tool.
But in order for us to succeed, we need your help. Please spread the word about Pat Toomey's extremism and falsehoods by watching this new video, by forwarding it to your friends, families and colleagues, and by sharing it on Facebook.
We MUST inform Pennsylvanians that Toomey is a conservative in the extreme -- he's even more extreme and conservative than Pennsylvania's former Senator, Rick Santorum.
