Paranormal Research Society is holding a Pagan Seminar led by Eilfie Music in State College!
Pennsylvania's very own Paranormal Research Society of the hit show Paranormal State on A&E, is holding it's very first Pagan seminar with Eilfie Music!
In Eilfie Music’s weekend-long seminar you will get the chance to study under her as she leads discussions, lectures, and workshops on Paganism. You will learn pagan practices and be able to participate in hands-on activities in the outdoors including learning how to build your own alter, do candle magic and take part in circle discussions. This seminar provides a great opportunity for all those who want to learn more about Paganism, or for practicing Pagans who want a different perspective into this ancient religion.
Interested in paganism, the occult, and energy work? Join PRS members Eilfie Music, Josh Light and energy worker Jackie for this 2 day event. Full details provided at http://www.parafieldtrip.com/events/pagan-seminar-led-by-eilfie-music/

You don't say! price is pretty steep tho...
Well, that's kinda sweet. The details of the seminar seem pretty conventional tho, kinda 101. I guess that's the point.
And I can't figure out where this thing is supposed to be - probably obvious but I am missing it.
And it's too expensive for my taste, altho, I understand, one wants to charge a reasonable amount for such things, and making a profit would be nice lol.
Is there gonna be any cheaper or free public or teaser event associated with it?
I'm always interested in the art form of intentional religion, altho I'm not religious myself.
Pagan Seminar rescheduled for October 2010.
This specific event has been canceled for this weekend. The seminar will be incorporated with another Paranormal Research Society event in October. These events are held in State College, PA. Below are details of the next scheduled event including the Pagan seminar.
We're excited to announce the return of the PRS open houses starting October 2nd at our brand-new PRS facility! If any of you have visited our old office, the new office is about 5 times bigger, complete with a lab center, conference center and rooms, library and seance experiment room and much more! Even though PRS is not non-profit, we put on these open houses to raise money for new research and tech equipment. It was saving the money from the past Open Houses that allowed us to get this new facility (which we are greatful for!). So we're throwing a much bigger Open House this time. Previous open houses consisted of a 30-minute workshop and a main 2-hour workshop, followed by a social hour. Now, we will be able to offer several concurrent workshops as well as lab and research space to conduct hands-on training and demonstrations.
The event will include: 2-3 workshops 1 lecture ghost tour and hunt tentative Paranormal State 5 premiere screening social hour Some lectures will be hands-on, whilst others will be circle discussions or classroom style lectures. This marks the next step in our eventual goal to start a Paranormal University!
Details will be available shortly at http://www.paranormalresearchsociety.org/
There is also a FREE event that day as well. Ryan Buell the director of The Paranormal Research Society is having a book signing at Barnes and Noble in State College, PA. His book, Paranormal State: My Journey into the Unknown will be released on Sept. 21st.
The events besides the book signing will be held at The PRS headquarters. Physical address is emailed to you when a ticket is purchased.

I've never seen the show, actually, altho I've heard of it of course. Ghost hunting and the like completely bores me. I see it as a way of inducing a specific set of states of consciousness, but I'm not sure how useful those states of consciousness will turn out to be.
But somebody has to do it, and gather the data which will eventually result in a better understanding of those states of consciousness, at least.
Thanatology is certainly interesting.
Anyway, you've got a tiger by the tail now, you have a show and a content stream and an audience and all that stuff, such things have a tendency to suck in energies and people like a gravity well, what is is, and you have to go with it I guess.
Maybe you can figure out a way to sneak in some more interesting research and art projects as you go along.

I think better understanding on any subject is a positive thing. You might be interested in the PRS forums. http://forums.pennstateprs.com/index.php?
It's a pretty diverse group of folks and if you ever have ideas for research on anything from religion to science, feel free to post.
