Our Forefathers’ Workshop —Tools of the 18th and 19th Century

Leave your power tools behind and join the Centre County Historical Society for a hands-on demonstration and program about the tools and building techniques of early Pennsylvania settlers by Richard Pencek, Penn State University Retired Professor of American Studies. Informative and entertaining, Pencek’s program will appeal to visitors of every age.  Enjoy learning about how shake shingles, beams and pegs were made without the benefit of modern tools. This program will be outdoors. In case of rain, we will meet in the Hearth Room at the Centre Furnace Mansion.
