Mark Greenberg, will speak (with a slide presentation) about “Educating the Heart and the Mind: Meetings with His Holiness The Dalai Lama” Mark is the Director of the Penn State Prevention Research Center (College of Health and Human Development) and has been involved with a series of scientific delegations that have met many times with The Dalai Lama over the past eight years. These meetings have focused on developing new ideas that merge contemplative traditions with new knowledge about social and emotional learning. A particular use of these ideas has been to improve the lives of families, their children, and to build more caring and mindful communities. There will be time for reflection and discussion following Mark’s presentation
