How about putting some pressure on our lawmakers to help us "poor Joes" get a break on gas prices?

Sometimes it seems as though American citizens are a bunch of sheep just hanging around and good for nothing but to pay taxes in order to keep "the powers that be" in Washington in the lifestyle to which they are (or have become) accustomed. Could they perhaps cut some of the taxes included in the price of a gallon of gas? Maybe give up some of their perks to offset the tax cut? I must be loosing it to even consider such an idea!  Every 1-cent increase in the cost of gasoline at the pumps costs American consumers $3.9 million a day (USA Today).  Put that in your pipe and smoke it!  We here in the US  are making somebody?? very rich.
